May 2, 2018 Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners Regular Meeting

The Regular meeting of the Colonia Board of Fire Commissioners took place at the Colonia Firehouse on May 2, at 7:40 pm. The meeting was called to order by Board President Ray Hughes followed by a moment of silence for departed members.

Notice of the meeting was advertised in the Home News Tribune and the Asbury Park Press and at Town Hall.

Commissioners present: Ray Hughes, Bill Stellmach, Ed Sheehan, Bill Higgins, and Joe Fugaro

Commissioners have the reports.

Treasurer's Report, Commissioner Fugaro

Motion to accept Treasurer's report was made by Commissioner Sheehan and seconded by Commissioner Stellmach. Motion passed.

Buildings/Grounds, Commissioner Higgins, Jr.

Commissioner Higgins is waiting to hear from the other contractor on the floors.

First Aid would like to purchase stackable washer/dryer. Commissioners do not have a problem with the purchase.

Ordered fobs for front door but still have not received them.

Water/Hydrants, Commissioner Stellmach

Insurance, Commissioner Hughes

Insurance agent called regarding what is being paid out on fees. Policy is very old. Have only had one rate increase in 30 years.

Covered everything at agenda meeting.

Purchasing, Commissioner Hughes

Waiting on cameras to come in.

Old Business

Commissioners will help out with the cost of the bus trip for the explorers to Ohio.

New Business

Commissioners passed a unanimous vote to put ads in both the Emergency Services book and the 350th township ad book.

Commissioners met with day crew a couple of weeks ago. Will come up with jobs for them to be doing.

DCA is still status quo for Commissioner Stellmach.

The Chief needs to discuss at the next company meeting explorers riding on calls and not riding.

A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the regular meeting. Motion passed.
